“Meat” Me at the Deli

Meatless Monday is the perfect opportunity for you to try out our vegan deli meats in your menu. We created our vegan deli meats so that everyone can enjoy them - vegans, vegetarians, flexitarians, and meat eaters. At SUUP, we’re committed to making healthy plant-based meat alternatives that not only look like the real thing but taste like the real thing! 

If you’re preparing sandwiches for your family, you could set up a deli sandwich bar so that everyone can make what they like. Arrange a selection of our vegan meats, condiments, toppings, and bread products on platters and trays. Let your family members pick and choose how and what to put in their personal sandwiches. It might get a bit messy, but it will be worth it! And fun can be creative. And creative can be really, really tasty!

Firstly, keep your sandwich healthy and hearty. Use an interesting whole-grain bread, traditional rye bread, pita, vegan wrap, bun, or even lettuce leaves as the base. Be sure you have a variety of condiments on hand: grainy mustard, vegan mayonnaise, sweet chutney, pickled relish, sauerkraut, hot sauce, horseradish, and SUUP’s Harira Roasted Red Pepper Spread are a great selection. Our Lemon Lovers’ Hummus is also a tasty spread to use in your sandwich creation! Have some tasty items to add to your sandwich, such as pickles, olives, peppers, coleslaw, sweet onion, sliced avocado, and tomato.

So now you’ve chosen your bread, you’ve chosen your condiments, you’ve prepared some additions. All that’s left is to decide which of our vegan deli meats you’re going to use to dress up your sandwich. Our “meats” are all rich in plant-based protein, low in fat, contain no sulfites, and are packed with nutrients and minerals.  

Slice open a multigrain roll, spread some grainy mustard on both sides, then pile on slices of our roast beef. Add a couple of pickle spears. You’ve just packaged a form of “yum!”  

How about using a vegan wrap? Spread a thin layer of mango chutney, then top it with our plant-based deli cuts. A few slices each of our corned beef and pastrami, topped with a bit more chutney. Roll the wrap carefully and tightly, then take a bite. We bet you’ll love the flavour combo of sweet and smoky. 

A vegan Reuben is a sure winner. And here’s an interesting trivia tidbit: the classic Reuben sandwich has a sister sandwich called a Rachel! Instead of slices of rye bread being layered with corned beef and sauerkraut, the Rachel sandwich has slices of rye bread topped with either pastrami or turkey, and coleslaw. It’s a little lighter on the lips…and on the hips!

Here’s our recipe for a classic Reuben, vegan-style, using SUUP’s corned beef:



2 slices rye bread

1 Tbsp. vegan butter, softened

1/4 c. Russian dressing

2 slices vegan Swiss cheese

6-10 slices vegan corned beef (SUUP)

2 Tbsp. sauerkraut, well drained


1/2 c. vegan mayonnaise

3 Tbsp. ketchup

2 Tbsp. horseradish 

2 tsp. vegan Worcestershire sauce

1 Tbsp. granulated sugar 

1/4 tsp. sweet paprika

Kosher salt 
Freshly ground black pepper


  1. Butter one slice of bread. On the other slice spread Russian dressing. Add cheese, corned beef, and sauerkraut. Close sandwich. 
  2. Heat a medium skillet over medium heat. Place sandwich in skillet and cook until golden and cheese is melted, 3 minutes per side.


In a medium bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, ketchup, horseradish, Worcestershire sauce, sugar, and paprika until combined. Season with salt and pepper.
